Since 2001, Savoie Technolac has been certified ISO (International Standards Organization) 14001, which is an international standard for Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
Being ISO 14001 certified means having a comprehensive approach to environmental issues. This means, firstly, respecting regulatory constraints, but it also means, making a long-term and collective commitment to energy and waste management, as well as to more environmentally sound transport practices. At Savoie Technolac we believe that environmental management simply makes good business sense because it means using resources more efficiently.
We also see the challenge of sustainable development as an opportunity for business to imagine the clean technologies, products and services of the future and our support to the eco-construction industry is an example of how we are putting this sustainable development vision in practice.
Eco-construction is an important sector, not least because it is a key vector for the take-up of renewable energy, which is why we are applying the official buildings standard “HQE” - Haute Qualité Environnementale” to the park itself. As we expand over the next 5 years all our new buildings will have to respect strict criteria and be designed, following the German ‘Passivhaus’ concept, as ultra energy-efficient, which means that they will in fact produce their own energy.
