Rhône-Alpes is one of France’s leading industrial regions, with almost half a million jobs in manufacturing. Diverse sectors from automotive to biotechnology are present and supporting many of them is an extensive and structured materials sector, including state-of-the-art research activities in areas such as nanotechnologies, or composite materials. Some 179,000 jobs in the region are materials-related.
Given its importance as a technology input to our target sectors but also as a sector in its own right Savoie Technolac Science and Technology Park fully supports material-related activities. A number of materials-related agencies, research organizations and private sector research capabilities, including those listed below, are located in Savoie:
The Rhône-Alpes Materials Agency
The Rhône-Alpes Materials Agency (ARAMM) was created in 1994 by the French central government in partnership with the Rhône-Alpes regional government. ARAMM acts as a hub for knowledge exchange in the field of materials technology to support the region’s manufacturing industry.
