The strength of our strategy for supporting new businesses is that we support all stages of the entrepreneurial process from the decision to create a company through to early stage development and beyond.

Our not-for-profit CleanTech Business Incubator plays the lead role in this strategy. It provides a comprehensive business support service to guide Savoie based or inward bound creators both during their creation phase and through their first two years of activities, thereby maximising their long-term growth prospects.  Some 85% of the entrepreneurs supported by our incubator make it through their first two years and most decide to stay on in the Savoie Technolac Science and Technology Park after this point.

Our CleanTech Business Incubator is also a cornerstone in our ambition to support the development of our park, and therefore particularly welcomes applications from potential start-ups in the renewable energies sector, particularly in solar energy.

Our CleanTech Business Incubator occupies four original stilt houses called HouseBoats, just 5 minutes on foot from Le Bourget Lake. With 1,100 m2 of workspace it can accommodate up to 25 companies and offers a comprehensive support package for new businesses throughout their first two years of activities. This package includes:

assistance with day-to-day management formalities such as : setting up a business in France or preparing an effective business plan adapted to local requirements

business accommodation and buildings solutions designed specifically for new business ventures (offices and/or labs, flexible leases and attractive fees)

shared office services (such as a reception area, conference rooms, business library, kitchen facilities, copy and fax machines, and high speed internet connections)

free access to strategic partners throughout the Greater Alpine Region and various local business networks, including:

• the i-entrepreneurs club: meetings for startup companies and senior managers at which various relevant topics are discussed with experts
• science networking with the University of Savoie, local research institutions and, in respect of companies specializing in solar energy, with the National Institute for Solar Energy (INES), which is located on the site
• a range of specialist consultancy services are available on the park (management coaching, financial, legal, marketing, intellectual property, technology related, etc)
• five French competitiveness clusters (TENERRDIS for renewable energies, IMAGINOVE for digital and media content, PLASTIPOLIS for plastic and composite materials, SPORALTEC for sports and leisure, and TECHTERA for functional and technical textiles)
• local private investors (Savoie Business Angels) who may provide seed and start-up capital for the best incubated projects
• access to national and regional business competitions for innovative business projects.

Our CleanTech Business Incubator is also an active member of the European Business Network – EBN – an international association that brings together and represents the interests of business incubators and their members across Europe, thereby ensuring we give you the best possible service.
